The renovation of the house is driven by several considerations, primarily to provide spaces that align with our client's lifestyle. The current family composition requires adapting the existing home to ensure comfort and well-being for all members. Part of the family will live at garden level, another part in the attic, with a common "buffer floor" on the ground floor.
In this context, adding a terrace extension on the south side is a relevant solution to expand outdoor living spaces and protect the most sun-exposed facades (South-Southwest). The choice of wood as the primary material aligns with an ecological initiative. Wood, a renewable and ecological material, will help reduce the carbon footprint while providing an aesthetic and warm alternative.
Additionally, we will insulate the façades with lime-hemp, a regenerative material with remarkable insulating properties.
