NGO Diapalanté, Saint-Louis of Senegal

Nominated Aga Khan Award (with Suzanne Hirschi, Architect DPLG)

Diapalanté is a building built in 2015 in Saint-Louis du Sénégal in a historic site classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It combines history, heritage and contemporary architecture. It demonstrates the possibility of building a high-quality sustainable architecture in sub-Saharan Africa today at no extra cost.

This social building was built by a French NGO „Le Partenariat“, which operates in Saint-Louis and its region in the fields of health, education, sustainable construction and heritage.
